Shwayze's Ways

How did you start as an entertainer?

Being the class clown in high school. I always loved being the center of attention.

What is a dream role you'd love to play or artist you'd like to work with in the future?

I'd love to work with prince. He's a legend and I feel like we would vibe and we're both Geminis.

Did you always want to be an artist even as a child? What did you want to be when you grew up aside from an making music?

Yes, I always knew I'd be an entertainer. I wanted to be like Will Smith, both the actor and musician. I'm working on the acting part now.

What do you love most about your profession?

Creating the music

What challenges or struggles have you faced along the way and what helped you overcome them?

As an indie artist I think the biggest struggle is getting the music to the masses. Without a major label budget you have to find creative ways to get to the people. The way I'm overcoming that is consistency. My fans know that when I put something out its going to be quality and I'm going to put my heart in it.

Of all the work you have done over the years, what is the one thing you are most proud of?

My son Hendrix! He's made me more focused than ever. And as far as the work my latest album King Of The Summer makes me proud.

What are some personal ambitions you would like to fulfill?

I want to build my label and management company. I have a passion for finding talent and developing it, connecting like-minded people together. Aside from the music I'm very excited about the business side of it.

What do you like to do for fun in your downtime?

Hang with my son, play sports like basketball and golf. Just like my music, I'm very laid back and love to chill.

Where are you originally from?

Malibu, CA

What do others compliment you on the most?

My crazy hair

Tell us about your album, what can we expect?

It's the ultimate summer playlist

What do you like most: recording in a studio or concerts?

Both! Love recording the music and seeing people sing it back to me at the concert. It's a crazy feeling. For me I can't have one without the other.

What are some of your hidden talents that your fans don't know about?

I'm dope at all sports

What is the best info you can give a new talent?

Don’t stop!

As an artist, what would you say has been your biggest obstacle?

Myself

If you had to walk away from it all, what would you like to be remembered most for?

That I always made good songs.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Keep doing what you're doing, because without you I wouldn't be me.

What's next for you?

Working on a fall album as well as the album for next summer. Keep a lookout for Feel Good 2016!
